In an ongoing effort to enhance the cleanliness and sanitation services in the community, Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality has procured of two new refuse trucks. This initiative is part of the municipality’s commitment to improving waste management and ensuring a healthier environment for all residents.

The acquisition of these refuse trucks is a significant step towards enhancing our waste collection efficiency. The new vehicles are equipped with the latest technology to ensure effective and environmentally friendly waste disposal. These trucks will augment our existing fleet and help us to better manage the increasing waste collection demands of our growing population.

According to the Municipal Manager; Lekgetho Mokgatlhe; the new trucks will increase the efficiency of waste collection services, reducing the time taken for collection routes and ensuring timely waste removal. “With the addition of these trucks, we aim to provide more reliable and consistent waste collection services, minimize blockages on sanitation infrastructure due to littering by our community. Refuse collection has not been done according to the schedule due to old fleet that would break down from time to time. Now we are happy that we will restore the status of cleanliness in our town’, explained Mokgatlhe.

Mayor of Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality, Cllr Dina Pitso has welcomed the trucks and is delighted to see good things happening in the name of service delivery acceleration. “The struggle is over now. Waste collection will be done according to schedule and on time. This is the step towards the right direction and we are hopeful that with time we will acquire more fleet to accelerate service delivery in our municipality. Few months ago, we managed to procure a grader, cherry picker, five Mahindra bakkies) and two TLBs. We would like to urge the members of the community to work together with the municipality and refrain from dumping waste anywhere. Illegal dumping is not allowed and we should work together to keep our town clean. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Love your town”, urged the mayor.
