As part of stakeholder partnership with Zeerust Solar Plant; Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality have donated 15kVA Backup Generator to Steinkhoutboom Primary School. This indigent School that caters for children from farm areas is located near Mmamokete settlement in Ward 15. Teaching activities will no longer be affected by loadshedding for the next 12 months since the school will be supplied with diesel.

During the handover of the generator, Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality Mayor; Dina Pitso thanked the Zeerust Solar Plant for having adopted the school to assist them with most essentials. “Indeed, as promised, you are helping to put the North West Province firmly on the country’s clean power map. We are aware that the 15 solar panels that you once donated to the school have been stolen but that didn’t despair you. We would like to strongly condemn all the criminal activities and are happy that the generator is well secured. We are also hopeful that the electrification of the school will be finalized in due course”, said the mayor.

Meanwhile with winter season approaching; about 100 learners from Gareosenye Primary School in Dinokana; ward 11 received 100 pairs of shoes. The mood was jovial as the learners and the teachers appreciated the helping hand that was extended to the school. The mayor was accompanied by Councillors from ward 11 and 15; Obakeng Moseki and Itumeleng Malatsi as well as Solar Plant Maitenance Manager; Mr Welcome Moeng.
